COACH is identified as "the voice of health informatics" in Canada in the new 2011 - 2014 Strategic Plan - the "blueprint" for steering all the association does during this period. "Supporting Canadians in achieving good health and receiving quality care is a basic premise of the Strategic Plan. "Empowering people with information about their own health, arming clinicians with information to treat patients, providing medical care at a distance and transforming the system through evidence-based decisions will improve the care for Canadians. Health informatics (HI) is a critical path to those better health outcomes."
